i'm a whole lot better today. thanks to tempra. chie is sick (again)... it's hard to say goodbye to your bestfriend chie. ganyan talaga...kaw kasi, kinaibigan mo mabuti eh!

dennis is coming home tonight. yehey! yehey! yehey! gaaad, miss ko na po sha talaga and i really, really want to be hugged by him.... buti na lang uuwi na sya mamaya... lord, make it a safe trip home for him, okay? thank you po.

dead man walking

yan ako ngayon. sick. sick. sick. totoong sick ha. not the sick-and-tired-of-life sick but the give-me-my-bed kind. i've got fever, i'm coughing and sneezing and my throat hurts like hell when i swallow. nanay said it's because i've been puyat for so many nights. abuso sa katawan. i know, i know..... hay, i wish i could take off from work but here i am and pretending to be busy. i have the AIDS virus, too. As If Doing Something.

the chosen children's village

last saturday was the anniversary of the museo pambata's mobile library. i, together with mp staff and volunteers went to the chosen children's village, an orphanage which houses abandoned kids with cerebral palsy. the place was magical. it's clean, huge, organized, green! and that air! it was so fresh (being situated near tagaytay) that one would want to live there forever. pero hinde, para sa mga chosen children lang yun :). we had a magic show from burik (super amazed pa rin ako kahit napanood ko na sya dati as there were some tricks na first time ko nakita.) a storytelling session from manolo of alitaptap (where hubert touched his pwet, harharhar! sayang di ko nakita!) and an arts and crafts thing with the kids. we made some whatchamacallits. then we toured their place. ang ganda talaga. you have to go there and see for yourself. and that lettuce garden!!! yum! yum! yum!

after the outreach activity, we went to picnic grove in tagaytay for lunch. sayang we didn't get to do the ecotrail, next time siguro. ansawap ng foooooood!!! yum! yum! yum! may dala akong saging, hindi na giant :) tenk yu mama ni noreen! (i gave her my last plant, as a token :)

the garden

matapos naming mabundat kakakain, nagpaka-OC kami kabibili ng mga halaman sa tabi ng kalsada sa may silang. i always do this whenever i go to tagaytay. ang gaganda ng mga bulaklak at halaman kasi! good luck na lang kung mabuhay pa sya sa maynila. i bought 4 plants. one i gave to liza, another to olive, tas one i left with des kasi na-deads na yung kanya, tas the last one nga i left with tich for her mama. ayus lang, i'll buy na lang ulet next time. sa dami naming halaman na nabili (sabi ni chie, garden daw yung nabili namin) binigyan kami ng freebie! isang cutey tomato (accdg to chie's dad) plant! galing!

videoke, food for P10, starbucks and the indian dance

when we got back to museo, dapat punta kami sa marlboro party. kaso medyo di na namin kaya ni chie mag-headbang kaya sabi namin kay des, somewhere else na lang. so, matapos naming abusuhin yung videoke na ginamit nila sa xmas party ng mp, at mag distribute ng mga pagkain sa kalsada (habang nasigaw ng sampu-sampu lang at nagpapaputok ng mother rockets si des using her finger, lips and a cool sound effect), bagsak kami sa starbucks bayview. sarap talaga ng green tea frap, mahal nga lang :( ang cute nung kuha ni malen sa fone ni chie, hehehe! at ang caption ni chie. loko talaga... si des di ko alam kung na-sugar high sa tsaa nya na may honey at di matigil ng kaka-indian dance. gaaaaaad, naka chesire cat grin ako habang tinatayp ko toooooo.....stop it. dun na kami natulog sa mansion ni des, ako, si tich at si chie. deads na kami lahat.

divisoria

when i got home from mp, my neighbors bess and sab and i went to divisoria. i finally completed my xmas shopping ( i think... i hope!) andami pa ring tao pero not as much as last sunday's when i went there with dennis and his family. ang saya pati mamili kasama nung dalawa. thanks bess! thanks sab! yun nga lang, deads na ulet ako pagdating sa bahay. at hanggang ngayon.

highlights ng lantern parade sa UP

noong nakaraang wednesday, sumama ako kina des, tich, chie at mami flor sa UP Diliman upang saksihan ang taunang lantern parade doon. dapat talaga di ako pupunta kasi xmas party namin kinabukasan. pero sige, join na rin kasi di ko pa na-witness yun... eniweis, heto ang mga highlights ko. random.

1. lanterns. ano pa nga ba dapat? di ako masyadong na-amaze, pero, oo, astig nga ang mga banat ng Fine Arts. magaling din yung sa iba pero ang kamangha-mangha ay yung reaction ng mga nanonood. ang saya! lahat ng tao join sa festivities, kumbaga, walang OA at corny na ayaw mag-reak sa mga dapat bigyan ng reaksyon. astig yung manang bola.

2. des at ang mahiwagang bench...maalaala mo kaya....actually, medyo sad ako for des. for her to go back to THE bench and tell us the significance of it. antapang talaga ni des. bilib ako sa kanya... teka, baka isipin nyo nareyp si des dun ah! hindi po! winish sana nya kaso, dense si carlo para ma-realize na yun pala ang hanap sa kanya ni des, ehehehe. joke.

3. fireworks. astig.

4. hirit sa bench (one more time, beybeh). ngayon, hindi lang kay des mahiwaga ang bench na iyun. pati na rin kay chie. if chie is lauding des for her god-given 20/20 vision, malamang galing sa planet krypton kakayahan ni chie na makita si ... sa gitna ng kakahuyan at mga damo. could be the shirt... could be love. :)

5. hubert's 'kids'. tyanak. nuno sa punso. ang kukulet po ng mga batang ito: jm and kyle, pangpangkin ni hubert. pero ansaya, tanggal antok ko kakahabol sa kanila.

6. boys. isa sa mga disadvantages pag "attached" ka eh yung hindi ka pwedeng makipaglandian. lalo pa't kilala ng mga kasama mo ang jowa mo. bantay sarado kumbaga. that night. ayan na nga't happy na si chie. tas happy na rin si tich. tas sumaydlayn si des dun sa isa. ako. wala. deads.

7. pag inlab ka, nahuhulugan ka ng wallet. pasalamat ka at may sa pusa si des.

friday, 12 dec 11pm - dennis arrives in our house. i was already asleep when he arrived that he had to call me in my cellphone para magising ako...

12am, saturday na, birthday ko - a birthday kiss from dennis. :) sleep, sleep, sleep ;) deads talaga ko that friday kaya walang hirit :D

8am - wake up to the smell of floorwax, bad trip. naglinis si nanay... haaaay, OC ata, hehehe.

10am - i decided to cancel my bday party at las piñas, dennis and i decided tonight is the night to tell his folks of our plans. :) prep na lang spaghetti lunch for museo pips. dennis nakaw tulog. daya. i cooked. nanay bought giant lakatan saging. mitch called from US.

1130am - medyo bad trip part. ang hirap kumuha ng cab. late na kami! baka nagrarambulan na mga bulate sa tyan nila :D

12-ish - museo! lunch!!! dennis, chie, des, tich, malen, mau, lisa, kurt, mami flor. and saved some for mamu.... si chie, nahulog sa silya????? walang explanation sa blogs nya pero alam ko kung baket at hindi ko sya masisisi :D

3pm - gift giving. it's been drizzling so there were fewer kids compared to the previous years. the only good thing about it is that it's a whole lot cooler under the sun (what sun?) most people opted to be outside than inside the musem, di gaya dati, you'll really seek the refuge of the cool rooms of the museum. piktyur! piktyur! malen and chie couldn't get enuff of us, volunteers, hehehe.

5pm - left for dencio's to have dinner with dennis' family. taragis!!! sarado roxas! ang traffic sa taft!!! gawd! pano yan? meet namin sila at 7pm and we're stuck!

8-ish - finally! so eat! eat! eat! odette gave me an art set!!! yey, kewl! may bag pa na fido dido na super astig din. :)

930ish - dennis proposes...to his parents. :) eto linya ni dennis...

dennis: ma, pa... (dead serious. parents look at him, parang alam na nila yung sasabihin ni dennis)...gusto na namin magpakasal ni dinah...(natawa ko, as in. dennis was so serious like i've never seen him. serious na to boi! pati mama nya napatawa, gulat ka, tita no? anak mo po yan!)...

it's a sign i saw hung on the fence of Ospital ng Maynila on may way home from museo pambata this morning. yep, this morning dahil dun ako natulog for two and a half hours.

anyways, ayos kagabi. we had dinner of some persian foods (sharwarma and the likes) at mister kabab (finally!). panalo ang hhighly reccommended ni vikki na yogurt shake!!! then me, des, chie and tich ( sumunod na lang si malen) trooped to millenia for the lennon tribute gig. weird, andaming banda tas tag-isang lennon/beatles song lang kinanta nila. the rest of each band's line-up were originals. mga banda ng UP na nagkikita-kita sa millenia once a week, tawag sa gig: marooned. kewl. maroon being UP's school color.

highlights: in no particular order. basta sumibol sa isip ko lang.

1. libre ni chie yung dinner sa mister kakab!!!! ayos!!!

2. watching dirty kitchen 2nd time. matagal pa rin mag set up pero worth watching. kewl music. kakaiba at di gaanong makatanggal tutuli. kakaibang effects mula kay datu.

3. giniling festival! waaaaaaah! i *heart* giniling festival! nanalo si des ng sticker with matching promote ng 10th anniv ng museo at mega peetyur taking na kala mo titulo ng lupa ang inaabot sa kanya ni jeje (ba yun?) instead of just a pc printed sticker, di pa water proof ika nila...ay ang kyut kamo nung gitarista....sigh*

4. giniling festival's psycho to the tune of (accdg to chie) bioman... mahal ko sya ngunit...psycho sya....!

i found the virus (sabi nya yun daw yung virus eh), may logong teddy bear, sa pc ko tas tinanggal ko per instructions... tas nung sinearch ko ulet, meron pa rin! bat ganun!!!! tinawagan ko ang tech support 911 ko, si chie yun. buti na lang di mainit ulo kahit busy, hehe. kaso sabi nya, la daw opis tech support ngayon, holiday! buhuhuhuh!!! bwahahaha!!!

sabi nya, di nya daw alam bat ganun, bat andun pa rin when i already removed it. sabi ko, patayin ko kaya pc tas on ko ulit baka wala na? duh, dinah. e di gawin mo.

it's been a while since i last got to chat with james. ang kaibigan kong di ko pa nakikita sa totoong buhay, next to charo... wonder what he's up to... i kinda miss hanging around with this kid on the net.

i saw chie's blogs last night and she said she's getting hooked with football again. kaninang umaga, palabas sa espn yung madrid vs. barcelona. di naman ako nanunuod ng football except pag magkakasama kami ni bestfriend jep dahil dati syang team captain (o ha!) ng mapua football team. kaya imbes na mag-away-away kami kung anong panonoorin sa cable, pinagbibigyan na lang namin sya para ipaalala sa kanyang di na nya kayang tumakbo gaya ng dati, hehehe...

so tinext ko kay chie. sabi nya nasa southmall daw sya, hihintayin na lang nya mamaya sa wowow yung game. at mababadtrip na naman sya sa mga lecheng japanese commentators, hehehe. sabi din nya, itext ko daw sa kanya kung sino mananalo. ngek, itong si chie, ayaw ma-thrill. syempre di ko sasabihin sayong nanalo ang...ano...saka may isang nakakatawang pangyayari....saka muntik ng magsapakan sina..... at ang gwapo ni casillas. panget nga lang pangalan :D


F*CK'D UP PUNK'D

on my bus ride home from dennis' place last night, the tv was tuned to channel 2. on was a copied show from mtv's punk'd which has ashton kutcher as host. the channel 2 show was titled victim. kasi kung na play time ka, victim ka. duh. the host of the local punk'd was CA. di ko maatim na buuin ang pangalan nya sa blogs ko dahil sobrang asar talaga ko sa kanya. yaaaaaaaaak. (yes, chie, with jologs accent!)

ewan ko ha. naniniwala naman ako sa kakayahan ng mga pinoys to come up with original shows. maaaring kopya pero di naman sagad sa butong plakado noh. punyetang victim yan, pati yung paggamit ng hidden mics ni ashton at pagtago sa likod ng kung anik-anik para magdikta ng sasabihin sa mga accomplice ginaya! leche talaga. tapos itong kumag na host, pati yung unshaven-just-got-out-of-bed look ni ashton ginaya nya! leche talaga! ano bang klaseng tao yan... sana natulog na lang ako sa bus ride ko kaso pano ka matutulog kung yung mga kasakay mong jologs eh tuwang-tuwa sa idol nila. grabe. im so pissed gusto ko syang sapakin kung pwede lang. grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

hay, mukhang tanggal na naman ako sa purgatory...


WHY MYXMO SUCKED

the opinions expressed by the author are not necessarily those of everyone who attended the concert. syempre. one and a half bands into the concert and we left. the myx channel sponsored gig was way too unorganized for me.

unang-una, they said the show starts at 7. des and went to luneta at a little past eight the event has not even started. filipino time? not. throngs of people, and i mean huge crowds of punks-not-dead, students, rockers, families (pati bebes included), taong grasas, ramping gays, of all age and sizes littered the front of the luneta grandstand. why the myx people opted to put up a stage instead of just using the grandstand, i have no idea.

merong cordoned area sa harap ng stage na sinet up ng myx. and when i say cordoned, yun lang talaga, walang walls kahit lawanit man lang. tapos the queue of people trying to get in was so long, the fact pati na punong-puno na yung area where they wanna get in to. ewan ko lang kung magkasya lahat ng taong nakapila dun sa tinalian nilang area.

anyways, nag stay na lang kami sa side lines ni des. with the different types of people there, di mo rin alam kung anong klaseng gulo mangyayari... imagine, may naka mohawk! hay, punks not dead talaga...we thought di bale nang malayo basta marinig lang namin yung bands. des came for parokya and i for imago. tagal ko ng like tong band na to pero hanggang ngayon di ko pa rin napapanood ng live.

so we stood on the sidelines and waited....and waited...and waited....and, des, start na ba? parokya yun! bat wala akong marinig? naykupow, ang parokya bumubulong! ampanget nung sounds! even the big screen was not malinaw!!!

siguro dahil i am still awestruck with the recently concluded mtv aids summit. at ang kalidad nung event, wala akong masabi talaga. sobrang astig yung sounds, pati yung mga widescreens strategically placed para you won't have to go near the stage para ma enjoy yung tugtugan. tapos eto? ganyan? why, myx is always bragging na world class ang kanilang music channel tas ganito? wala ni katiting na sinabi sa mtv. sorry ha. alam kong masyado akong critiquing pero, wala eh.

malamang balik na talaga ko 8th level....

so after parokya, tas sinabayan ni francis m, umalis na kami ni des. buti na lang parokya at francis m agad. kahit papano, okay na rin. watch na lang kami ng mga cute na skateboarders sa estatwa ng kalabaw :)

isa pa pala... yung mga vj ng myx? ampanget ng boses. di ko maintidihan kung bat nakuha silang vj.

journeying

my friend of my teenage years (pero hanggang ngayon) KITCHIE's dad, Tatang, passed away. i went to the wake last night. i feel kinda sad for kitchie's mom, i call her mother. all her kids are away except kuya ramil (who'll soon be joining his wife in the US). kuya argel is in dubai, so is ate cherry. ate marissa lives in roxas city and kitchie is now based in cebu. now that tatang is gone, and kuya ramil soon leaving home, pano na si mother?

they say death is not really the end but the start of a journey. i believe this. when someone we love pass away, we begin another chapter of our lives. one that doesn't have that person physically with us. for some, they say they will just continue what they were doing and go on... for some, it's a totally back-to-square-one journey. no telling when the moving on part will come. this is when i think of kitchie's mom.

don't worry mother, tatang will be there to hover over you. ako din, i'll try. you'll be in my prayers, and tatang, too. and kitchie, as well.

wala na tampo ni kuya joi! yey!.. tampo sya sa kin kasi i, actualy, jj and me, promised we're gonna visit his ma at the hospital but we didn't go. i had to do some "in-law" obligations. while jj naman went to see kim's exhibit. they could've gone after the exhibit closed pero ewan kung bat di sila nagpunta. i understand kuya joy's tampo and i feel really bad that i wasn't able to visit his ma. she has CA. makes me feel a lot worse.

anyways, i got to chat with him this pm. he's back in san jose, CA. i said sorry and he said it's ok na. yey. :) i'm doing a testi for while in a while. isang pamatay na testimonial...pag sinipag ako, hehehe.

jars of clay's five candles was the first song i heard this morning. parang happy pill. i was quite cheerful the whole day.

it's kim's bday tomorrow. wonder if he, jj and i will meet at rob's place bukas... hmmm....
