i had my long needed break last week. i went with
dennis' family to their hometown in
dasol, pangasinan. ang saya! super sulit ang bakasyon ko. tatlong dagat ang aming napuntahan at sandamukal na kamag anak ang aking nakilala. i also got to practice on my ilocano a bit....
the bakasyonistas: papa ben, mama digs, odette, theto and moi. and also, lennox tha dawg.
MARCH 27, Sabado
woke up at 330am, we were supposed to leave at 4am. odet, theto and i were already packed, late na nga kami natulog the previous night. we took turns taking a bath, dressed up and stood waiting for departure. ready to go na kami at 4am, kaso there were some last minute packing pa so 5am na kami tumulak papuntang pangasinan. masaya yung byahe, maingay, may games pa (dugtungan ng kanta),
parang field trip ng high school! hehe...
we stopped at mabalacat junction,
lennox tha dawg hurled at the back of the car so we had to clean up. nahilo ata dahil first time nyang bumyahe, and we forgot to give him
bonamine (nagwowork din kaya yun sa aneemals?)
when we got to alaminos, we stopped at the house of
ante (auntie)
flo, sis ni mama digs. lunched and picked some kasoy fruits. akala ko sa antipolo lang nagta-thrive yun, madami rin pala sa pangasinan as i were to find out on our last day when we went to the market for our pasalubongs. i met
toto, a cousin. ante flo and her husband were already in dasol. they have a really big car accessories/service business, sila lang ang ganun sa within hundreds of miles na radius. our lunch was ubod ng sarap na hipon, ultra delish sinigang na tuna, steamed alimasag, fried chicken (na dinedma ata naming lahat). after lunch, we went back on the road.
2 hours pa (a little less ata) before we were to reach bgy. tambobong. long stretches of rough road, some patches of concrete and more rough roads. sabi ni mama digs, mas okay na nga daw ang roads ngayon, mas mahahaba na ang concrete. well, i didn't complain, i was used to travelling for hours and hours on rough roads, thanks to my past projects in aurora, bondoc peninsula and bicol. we passed by the cemetery where
mamang and
papang were buried (mama digs' parents). we stopped to pay our respects, took pics on odet's fonecam then journeyed on. i enjoyed the byahe. i liked all the places we passed, and even the aneemals na nagkalat sa kalsada (cows, kalabaws, kabayos)... kinuwento pa ni papa ben yung time when he had to walk from somewhere, one hour (by car) from the house, dala-dala nya yung gatas nina dennis at deo. asteeg, ang layo nun ah! tas rough road pa all the way noon...na-miss ko tuloy sobra si dennis habang kinukwento nya yun.
nakarating kami mga 2 pm. ang ganda ng lugar. ante flo's house was the sitting by the shore, there was no other houses as close to the sea as hers. malawak yung compund nina mama digs, ante flo got the best piece. the house is accreditted by the
Dept. of Tourism, so tourists can stay there and pay only P2,000/day. super cheap! 3-bedrooms, 2-crs, kitchen, dining and lots of space to run around on.
ante lydia was there, sis din sya ni mama digs, na-meet ko na sya dati sa las pinas. odet, theto and i claimed stake at the bedroom by the sea agad, that was to be ours for 4 days! yahu! merong malaking glass window overlooking the sea...and the beach? asteeeeeeg! white sands and clear, serene waters! as in no more than a ripple ang movement nya, no giant, iskeri waves.
habang nakatingin kami sa beach thru the big window, biglang sumigaw si theto: "
may flying fish!!!" syempre, the skeptic that i was said: "
ha? san? hindi yun flying fish! dapat malayo yung talon." so tumunganga kaming tatlo at naghintay kung mag lilipad ulit. wala. maya-maya, may nakita na naman si theto. sabi ko: "
walang flying fish dito." yabang ko eh. feeling ko i know.
after a short rest, odet, theto and i explored the premises. read: the beach. we found out that there were hundreds of
labang-labang (jellyfish). nung una, takot na takot kaming hawakan kasi alam ko, makati yun saka it can really give you peklats from hell, i have more than enough, thanks, so i cleared out of the jellyfishes' way. tapos, nakita namin yung mga bata na pinaglalaruan yung mga labang-labang. eyngs? hindi ba nangangagat yan? hindi ba makati yan?
haan! sabi nila. hindi daw. so ayun, humawak na ri kami ng jellyfish, ang weird, para ka talagang may hawak na jelly/ jello/ gelatin sa kamay mo. and they were really harmless. gumawa pa si odet ng video about them... ang jelly fish ay made up of 90% water... parang ganun...
our hawaiian looks, hehehe
odet and theto snorkeled. excited silang gamitin ang kaninang wunduhfool isnorkels. ako, nagtampisaw, hehe. takot ako sa grassy parts eh, baka andun ang loch ness monster, raaaayt. but i did get to see the underworld. i borrowed their goggles and dived where there were no grasses and i saw some corals and fish and more jellyfish.
after our atat swim, hehe, we had diner under the stars. may papag kasi dun sa labas ng house under a tree. we had inihaw na isda and lots more. everyone was telling us, "
o, di bale, bukas makakakain kayo ng karne." thanks, but i'm not excited about manila food. i'm very happy with what we were eating then. ante flo and her hubby (uncle____, hehe sorry po, nakalimutan ko) joined us for dinner, ante lydia,
ate marly (ante lydia's daughter) also. we were so full that we fell asleep early on our first night. wala pala kami eh, deads agad, hehehe.
day one pa lang yan ha... next time naman yung days 2-4, okies? ciao!
ps. yung inihaw na fish for dinner: flying feeesh. leche.
