hundred islands, here i come!!!

tomorrow at 4am, pupunta kaming pangasinan, sa lugar ng mama ng aking labsidudels na si dennis. ako, mama nia, papa nia, si odet at si theto na classmate ni odet nung high school.

first stop, tambobong, dasol, pangasinan. ito ang hometown ng aking mother-in-law, mama digs. ayon sa kwento, lalo na pag nang-iingit si dennis everytime uuwi sila dito dati at hindi ako kasama dahil hind pa ako ganun "ka-family" noon, wala daw sinabi ang white sands ng boracay sa buhangin sa kanilang dalampasigan. pag umuuwi sila, doon sila sa bahay ng auntie flo nya nag-s-stay. nakita ko na ang mga pictures. yung bahay ay makatayo sa tabi ng dagat, as in tabi. pag high-tide, abot ang tubig sa kanilang pader. pag low tide naman, pwede ka atang manghuli ng kung anikanik na shellfish at seafood. yep, ganun ka-"tabing dagat" ang bahay.

bakit kami pupunta dun. ipaghahanda ang babang luksa ng kanilang matriach, lola ni labsee. actually, nung january pa ang first death anniversay, kaso dehins swak sa sked ni papa ben (father-in-law) celebration (bat nga ba sine-celebrate ang death anniv?) so nag-request si mama digs na magpa-misa na lang ang mga nandun sa exact date tas ang handaan ang sa linggo na lang, yeps, this sunday. so yun.

bat ako sasama? e kasi, gusto ko! saka kalangan kong makita at mapatunayan na comparable nga sa boracay ang kanilang lugar.... hmmmm. syempre bukod dun, gusto kong ma-meet ang mga kamag-anak ni dennis. syempre dahil kamag-anak ko na rin sila technically.

after the "celebration" napag-usapan na we will head off to hundred islands. yan eh kung hindi magbabago ang kanilang mga isip at biglang mapuntang baguio. sana wag. mas excited akong makita ang mga isla sa pangasinan eh. hmmm.

til wednesday ang leave ko. poocha, ilang araw na break, bakasyon, pahinga!!! gashes. mamimiss ko for how many days ang aking blogs. kitakits na lang pagbalik ko ha! tag kayo all you want, update nio ko sa happenings while i'm gone, okies?

lemme share with you a totally hilarious email i got from my friend, bing. i say it's a qualified disqualification kasi wala lang, hehe. di ko nga alam kung correct grammar yan eh. anyways, feeling ko dapat lahat ng kandidato i-disqualify kasi wala lang din. wala silang lahat alam kundi manira at magpa-ere sa mga kapwa nila kandidato. hay, eh sabi ko nga, wala naman akong karapatang magreklamo kasi i'm not even registered to vote.

ewan ko ba. i told des: there's something totally crazy about this wednesday. sobrang init ng panahon!. it's crazy kasi no matter how many electric fans ata ang itutok ko sa sarili ko kanina eh nanlalagkit pa rin ako sa pawis. o, wag ka nang humirit na dahil lang yan sa katabaan ko, baka makatikim ka. dahil sa init na yan, naapektuhan ata ang ulo ko (lalo) at kung may ilang beses kong tinaasan ng kilay ang boss ko. pano naman kasi, ang init-init na at pagod na kong magpalakad-lakad sa harap nya habang muttering to myself na: ang init... ang init... eh ayaw pa rin nyang pabuksan yung aircon! hay dialogue tayo ha...

my labs, dennis left for japan yesterday. at tumawag na sya from his hotel room last night. ang ginaw daw dun! umaaso daw ang bibig nila. (dogging? hehe!) ngayon pa lang daw sila pupunta sa plant saka sa dorm where they will be staying til june 10. hmmm, a little less than two months and two week.

midnight wrestling

i'm nursing my bruised elbow. it is beginning to swell and hurt real bad now. i got it from hitting the wall beside my bed sometime last night or this morning. good thing we have plenty of ice in the freezer here at work. i didn't bring any pain reliever, i didn't think it would hurt this bad anyway. and now it's making me wince.

ang sakit, boy! ihataw ko ba naman sa semento. sheesh.
daig ko pa siguro naniko ng basketball player.

i think i was looking for one of my pillows to hug so i stretched/curved my arm to grab one. pag-ikot nung arm ko, biglang BOG! as in! hindi PAK! kundi BOG! ganun kalakas ang impact! kala ko siguro malaki pa yung space sa kanan ko, pader na pala.

the impact woke me up. sabi ko: ano yun?! then the sharp pang of pain came. araaaay.

dennis' japan trip

excited na si dennis. aalis na siya sa monday, 430 ang flight nya papuntang japan. sa osaka sila lalapag tapos ewan ko kung pano sila pupunta dun sa training site, baka train or bus. they will be staying in a dorm, a five-minute walk from the plant where their training will be held. excited na rin ako. matagal-tagal na rin namin tong hinintay.

medyo melancholic lang ako ngayon (naks, melancholic, ano ba ibig sabihin nyan? hehehe). syempre happy ako for him, for us. i know that this japan trip will bring in more opportunities for him, at syempre, sabit ako dun, misis ako eh! hehe. kaso tatlong buwan yun! at sa loob ng tatlong buwan na wala sya, i will be preparing for our church wedding, which happens in june, a few weeks after his homecoming. just thinking about the wedding preps is making me fidgety, iniisip ko yung mga anikanik na kailangan para sa kasal. tapos iisipin ko pang ako lang mag-isa ang mag-aayos ng lahat dahil nasa japan si dennis the whole time. hay. parang ang hirap-hirap. pero kaya ko to. iisipin ko na lang, yung iba, nagkakagulo dahil di sila magkasundo sa wedding preps, iisipin ko, i'm at an advantage, walang gugulo sa kin at wala akong guguluhin habang nagpe-prepare. hehe, parang andali.

den, i think this is one of the biggest challenges yet. kaya natin to. ahlabshu.

whoahey! sa wakas. after how many hours of labouring over my nu temp, it's up! it's up! tama si chie bago sya nabaliw sa pink, malinis tingnan ang black. i've yet to find an appropriate pic, medyo pa tweetums yung dati eh, hehe. kaso ayaw mag work nung .gif na background. bat kaia? oh well, can't have it all.

dennis is going to japan. matagal-tagal na rin nya itong minithi since joining his company last year. lahat daw kasi dapat ng nagtatrabaho dun, may chance na ma-train, mag-visit, or whatever, sa japan. and now your chance is finally here! sa monday, aalis ka na. i know you'll have fun there. alam ko ring madami kang matututunan dun. sana kasama ko! hehe, malamig dun di ba? kung kasama mo ko, may human blanket ka na agad. di mo na kailangan ng heater dahil sa taba ko, sakto na yung heat na magegenerate ko for both of us, hehehehe. patawa ha. bon voyage in japanese, den. ituro mo sakin pagbalik mo, pag nagbabay na sayo yung mga hapon dun after three months. :)

congrats, mahal. alam kong you are going there because you deserve it. it's gonna be one great experience, one big opportunity. i'm so proud of you. iloveyousoverymuch.

chie has higad vision

just recently, the bums found out my worst nightmare: higad. ayoko ng uod, higad, caterpillar. kumbaga, pag sumali ako sa fear factor o kaya sa survivor tas may ganitong creature in any way involved, lost na ko. the mere mention of "it" makes my skin crawl. no pun intended. since then, chie or des never pass up an opportunity to make me cringe, jump out of my skin, hurl out a scream everytime we are under or near a tree.

trigger words pa pala: angkan-angkan, generation and generation and generation... ganyan kadami ng higad.uod.caterpillar sa isang napakalaking puno. meron dun sa museo. nyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

kagabi, we went to wow in intramuros kasi dennis wanted to buy some socks like what des and i bought there a few months back. yun bang merong mga daliri, socks na gwantes. knitted kasi yun, makapal, so dennis wants to bring some in japan. P35 lang dun, murang-mura.

as dennis was parking the car, there was an atis tree near to where i was standing. sina chie at des were across the street and i was directing/helping dennis park. biglang sumigaw si chie: "dins, may higad!!!" syempre medyo napatalon ako sabay tingin agad sa paligid kung san meron nga. napatingin ako sa puno ng atis tas sinipat-sipat ko ng konti. syempre wala akong nakita, gullible ba tawag dun kung bat ako napatalon? para hindi obvious, tapang-tapangan kong sinabi: "sus, wala dyan no! pano mo naman nalaman?"

sabi ni chie: "i have higad vision."

hanep! of all super powers to have! joskopo, sayo na lang ang super powers mo. hmp.

i have been neglecting my blogs. eh wala na atang creative cell sa utak ko ngayon. naubos na kakasagot ng telepono at kaka-explain for the nth time kung paano ang process sa mga nagpa-follow up sa opis ko. shat. i'm a bad blogger.

castañas and tuna pie

my boss and i went to greenhills, she needed to pick up the dress she had made for her niece in the us. it is always a treat for me going there with her kasi it means free food and a free ride if i need to buy something there. she always makes it a point to eat in kfc, tropical hut or jollibee, minsan sa aristocrat pag trip nyang kumain ng boneless chicken bbq. so, when she asked me what time we can leave for greenhills after lunch, eh i was tinkering on the pc keys, looking at blogs, i said: "i’m just checking emails, we can go na."

pag nagpupunta sya sa greenhills, she also makes it a point to buy castañas, chestnuts ba yun? ewan ko ba, i never really "liked" that nut, parang kamote, hehehe. pero habang tumatagal eh nasasarapan na rin ako. mas masarap nga yung nabibili namin dun ng boss ko kesa yung nabibili sa rustans. the smaller the chestnuts, the sweeter they seemed to me.

after greenhills, (we weren't able to get the dress kasi medyo may kaunting alterations needed, babalikan na lang namin sa tuesday (free food ulet!). dumaan kami sa jollibee sa cash and carry. medyo busog pa ko dahil kaka-lunch ko lang, saka sa dami ng castañas na nakain ko sa kotse, i thought light lang order ko, sabi ko i'd try their new tuna pie (sabay coke saka chocolate sundae, light nga!). man, ansawap! ito ang isa sa mga perks ng lenten season eh, andaming nagtitinda ng tuna goodies! yumeeee….isa pa nga!

hay, can't wait to have one again…

dico and the cupcakes

trineat kami ni des sa alda's kitchen kagabi! woohoo!!! ewan ko, napwersa ko ata kasi kako pupunta lang ako sa museo kung manlilibre sya dahil wa na ko anda. pero feeling ko din, gusto nya kaming ambunan ni chie ng na-income nya sa lingayen… hmmm, san nya kayo tayo ti-treat after gensan? haha…

sarap dun, sa alda's! ang mura na, may ambience pa, o ha! after dinner, chie's mom was right on time picking her up, nag-order si des ng cupcakes for my nephew, dico, then went. dumaan muna kami sa rob kasi imi-meet ni des dun ate nya. nakabili pa ko ng 3-for-100 cutey boxer shorts courtesy of des (read: utang, ransom), tingin-tingin ng shades, tas uwi na…

tulog na si dico when i got home so sabi ko bukas na lang nya makakain yung cupcakes.

this morning, when i opened the styro container of the cupcakes, may tubig. san kaya galing yun? baka natapunan ng galing sa pitcher. sabi ni ate, pwede pa to! so she tried eating the cupcakes, pagkagat nya, tumulo yung tubig! alam mo yung sponge na nag-absorb ng tubig tas pinisil mo to get the water out? ganun ang eksena kanina. hehe. hay, sorry dico. next time i'll try going home early para makain mo pa yung treat ni tita des.

bums and the book launch- aha! kulot na rin ba kayiow? hehe, jowk lang yun! aligaga sila sa preparasyon sa book launch on march 12th. ila-launch na kasi ang much awaited Museo Pambata book in celebration of its 10th year anniversary. yey, happy birthday, empee! nina daw has a new hairstyle, hmmm, makikita ko kaya mamaya? parang ayoko, maaalala ko si liza tas baka ma-stop-dead-in-my-tracks na lang ako pagnakita ko sha. hehe...chie is doing good in convincing herself na manhid na sya, keep it up. alamin nyo ang details ng kanyang orcmode season sa kanyang site. si des, well, jetsetting as usual. after lingayen eh fly sha sa gensan tomorrow. hmp, tas magba-blag ka na naman na nahohomesick ka. ewan ko saiow.... tich? musta na? paramdam ka naman dyan... sige, pagbutihin nyo ang preps. i'm sure tanggal lahat ng pressure after the launch, not because it'll be over then but because of your date with brandon boyd and the rest of incubus. rock on!



speaking of incubus - i got a text message from odette yesterday saying a friend of his classmate's is selling the P1,950 incubus concert tix for less than P100bux. whoa, back up a bit! did you say less than P100??? so sabi nya: "ano, ate, bibili ba tayo?" sabi ko, imbestigahan nya muna kasi baka bogus, now if it's trulyly, sabi ko shempre buy kami... hindi ko na in-analyze, basta ang alam ko P100 na lang yung tix. syempre tinext ko si chie, sagot nya: ah, nakalimutan ko na basta parang "oh, talaga?" ata...nwei, later that night, nagtext ulet si odette: ate, ikaw nga magtext nung friend ni jun, ask ko if pwede kahit P1,750 na lang yung tix!" wait up, back up a bit ulet! did you say P1,750? saka ko lang na-realize na ung P1,950 na tix e binebenta ng P100 less, so P1,850 na lang. at nahirit pa si odet na kung pwede eh P1,750 na lang...asews, boblaks ko ha. tsinismis ko pa man din kay chie at kay kim (eheh, sorry guys!)... so, syempre, hindi ako bibili nun. sabi ko kay odet: "hindi na ko watch, gusto mo bang ilibing ako ng buhay ng kuya mo pag bumili ako nun?"...haaaay.

dico - is sick. it's been really hot and humid the past few days, the season of the colds, cough and flu, and dico is struck, like me. mukhang ako din kasi eh dinadalaw na naman ng sipon, haaay. anyway, dico has colds. two nights ago, siguro di sya makatulog ng maayos kaya nagising at umiyak. i could hear him because he was wailing like crazy. he was saying a monosyllabic word over and over and over...."bee! bee! bee! bee! bee! bee!" as in paulet-ulit. tas narinig ko mommy nya (ate ko) saying: "mamaya na tayo manood ng tv kasi wala pang palabas..." yun pala yung bee - TV, shortcut.

oscars - asteeg si billy crystal. nakakatawa sya. the whole show was boring if it wasn't for his antics. i liked his opening number a lot, lalo na yung kay clint eastwood when he sang: "most people your age are either dead or dying, but not clint eastwood, he just keeps rolling along..." hehe. asteeg din si annie lennox, allison kraus, sting at elvis costello...higit sa lahat, i'm really happy for sean penn, palagay ko he really deserves that oscar, dapat nga sa i am sam pa lang nanalo na sya eh... ROTK: "it's a clean sweep," says spielberg, 11:11, asteeg.

si dico ang unang apo ni tatay at nanay. anak sya ni ate des, panganay sa aming tatlong magkakapatid. kaya dico kasi, des ang nanay nya at cocoy ang tatay nya, tas junior sha. ano daw???



napaka sweet nitong batang ito. wag mo nga lang sasabihing: "hala paputok!!!!" kundi baka masapok ka nya. magtu-two na sya sa may 31 and he is bigger than most pinoy kids his age. ang dahilan: lahat ng ipakain mo sa kanya eh kakainin nya, kung di man nya kainin at first subo attempt, babalikan nya yun pag nagutom na sya, hehe. si dico: love ko to!
